We felt the bailer, which has been a work horse for over 50 years, was ready for a redesign.  We wanted to make it even more reliable and user-friendly with features that are now standard.

• Our NEW servo driven main shaft replaces major mechanical points on the machine at the main shaft clutch and brake, which makes for a quieter and smoother cycle all while improving speed and reliability. With this new system, the wire is also shaped independently and formed to the inverted “U” shape before the can arrives.

• A NEW can orienting system was added for reliable can orientation. If the can was not properly oriented by the time the can made it to the correct position, the formed bail would be left in the machine. We are now ensuring that the cans have plenty of time to be oriented, even while back-to-back.

• All the can guides including the can ear rail and can height are fixed, eliminating several frequently misadjusted parts on the machine. Ear lifters are no longer cam driven and have no tie rods to adjust or bend.

• Wire clamps have been added to hold the wire during the cutting process.  This prevents the wire from shifting during the cut and holds it in the correct position for the bail forming cycle.  This works in conjunction with our NEW retainer finger system, which are now located on the wear plates so adjusting is no longer needed. Our newly designed dies also help to provide a consistent shape loop, and shimming is no longer needed.

• The wire straightener has been redesigned to be more accommodating to intolerant wire, making spool changeover require little to no adjustment. A NEW wire sensor now confirms there is a wire in position and ready to be formed to reduce the chance that a can is missed.

• The wire stanchion has been redesigned to be more durable and reliable, and the wire payoff unit that mounts to the top of the wire carrier now has a braking system that prevents wire snarls. 

• The main plate is now vertically adjustable, allowing you to easily adjust the machine to run different style cans via a product select button on the HMI instead of a mechanical adjustment on the conveyor. 

• The NEW Model EA Bail-O-Matic will now be provided with a pneumatic Valve Enclosure to keep the pneumatic items clean and out of the way, an LED lighting system for easier inspection during cleaning and maintenance, and an oil draining system on all major lubrication points so that excess oil is channeled to a drain tube for clean collection of the oil.
